Simic Midrange is a deck that combines blue and green colors to play powerful and versatile spells that can adapt to any situation. This deck is perfect for those who like to play a mix of control and aggression, depending on the matchup and the board state.

Let me show you the deck list and then we’ll jump into some games.

The core of this deck is based on playing cards with mutate, a mechanic that lets you combine two creatures into one by casting one over the other. When you do this, you get to trigger some powerful abilities and create a bigger threat. We have Chrome Host Seedshark, a 3/4 creature with flash that lets us draw a card whenever we mutate it or another creature mutates. This is great for generating card advantage and surprising our opponent with a blocker or an attacker. We have Topiary Stomper, a 6/6 creature with trample that lets us put two +1/+1 counters on any creature we control whenever we mutate it or another creature mutates. This is great for making our creatures bigger and harder to deal with. And we have Hullbreaker Horror, a 7/8 creature with flash that lets us bounce any nonland permanent whenever we cast a spell. This is great for disrupting our opponent’s board and protecting our own.

To support our plan, we have some spells that can either draw us cards, remove our opponent’s threats, or create tokens. We have Consider, a one-mana instant that lets us look at the top card of our library and either put it into our hand or into our graveyard, then draw a card. This is useful for finding our mutate creatures or filling our graveyard for other purposes. We have Fading Hope, a one-mana instant that lets us return target creature to its owner’s hand and scry 1. This is useful for bouncing our opponent’s creatures or our own creatures to reuse their mutate abilities. We have Joint Exploration, a two-mana sorcery that lets us draw two cards if we control a creature with power 4 or greater. This is easy to achieve with our mutate creatures and helps us keep up the pressure. We have Make Disappear, a three-mana instant that lets us exile target creature or planeswalker until Make Disappear leaves the battlefield. This is useful for getting rid of problematic permanents temporarily or permanently if we can bounce Make Disappear with Hullbreaker Horror. We have Memory Deluge, a four-mana instant that lets us look at the top X cards of our library, where X is the amount of mana spent to cast it, then put two of them into our hand and the rest on the bottom of our library in any order. This is great for finding exactly what we need in any situation and has flashback, meaning we can cast it again from our graveyard for its flashback cost.

So this is the deck I’m going to play today: Simic Midrange! Let me know what you think of it in the comments below and don’t forget to like and subscribe for more MTG Arena content.
