Expressive Iteration and White Plume Adventurer are both cards that represent value adds to their respective decks in Legacy. Those decks, according to Wizards of the Coast (WotC) represent an unhealthy share of the current Legacy met and, therefore bans were necessary. This hit probably doesn't come as a surprise to long-time players of the format or even casual fans who've been keeping up on the news. Izzet Delver and Mono White Initiative decks have been very popular as of late and are winning a disproportionate number of games.
