Lobo Blanco
Tier: 9This Standard Deck is BREAKING the Pioneer / Explorer Meta Game
Mtg Magicthegathering Mtgarena
Turns out that the MTG Standard mono red aggro deck is so strong that it has basically taken over the pioneer / explorer metagame. Normally on the channel we cover weekly metagame trends for each MTG Arena formats, but with Tarkir a couple days away we are waiting for the new cards to drop. What I did want to highlight is the recent trend of power crept standard cards taking over in eternal formats like pioneer and explorer, to the degree the format can be seen adopting standard decks with slight upgrades like we see here with mono red aggro. My concern is we either experience new sets being over tuned by bloomburrow or duskmourn or completely irrelevant to the metagame like foundations and aetherdrift. Don't get me wrong, I like playing mono red, I own the deck in paper. All that said though the presence of overtuned cards in standard within the bounce, mono red and zur overlord decks are all leagues better / more consistent than the other tier 2 decks. We can see domain and bounce decks also port to explorer and pioneer. What do you think of the power level of recent tier 1 decks?
