Over the past couple weeks I put far too much work into making a visual novel in godot! First time programming anything in Godot & my second digital game ever. It probably could have been a lot less work, but I was real picky about how I wanted certain things to function. I ended up building a big front end (& some additional mechanics) for the Clyde dialogue manage plugin & it turned out alright, good learning project anyway.

I decided to channel some vaguley manic energy into producing a lore reading/mini-audiobook for Altered! There's an introductory bit, but it's primarly focused on the Bravos (/Mono Red for my MTG people) faction. Hope you like it or find it interesting, just wanted to do something constructive after the last video. I actually hadn't thoroughly read the lore before deciding to do this (listen, skimming can be informative) and I was pleased that it was actually pretty good. I think there's an odd phrase here or the from translation, but as a whole I enjoyed the characters & etc.

A new trading card game caught my eye recently, Altered! It's doing a ton of things differently from most card games, which makes it particularly interesting in my opinion. While time will tell if the interesting stuff it's doing with collection and digital ownership and etc will hold up, game's also just fun, so I thought it was worth doing a (for me) quick video to introduce folks to it & show off basic gameplay. Kickstarting for a few more days if you want to toss Equinox some cash, better them than Hasbro.

And while the development team is an indie company, most of them come from careers working on starcraft 2 or at blizzard, many others are RTS pros. In short the skills are there.

Archdruid charm probably has the most hype, and rightfully so, the first mode alone is amazing in any ramp deck.

Archdruid charm probably has the most hype, and rightfully so, the first mode alone is amazing in any ramp deck.
But there's also a Axebane Ferox, a solid haste threat ward. The deathtouch on it's also very handy in combination with hard hitting question, the most efficient straightforward bite spell we've seen.
There's flourishing bloomkin - don't worry about the disguise, it's just something that can be a 7/7 for two.
Also, honourable mention to willow geist. The evidence mechanic is probably the best support it will ever have in standard.

Combine them together and that means you can play a card like resolute reinforcements off the top of your deck, on your opponents turn, ping them for two, and suddenly have two tree two blockers to play defense with.

Case of the crimson pulse is also some very strong card advantage. It's maybe a little slow, I like it the best in midrange or big red decks.
There's also this weird goat. Aside from being a delight, its ability to give other creatures menace solves a problem for some red threats.
For example, thundering raiju, great attack trigger, sucks to run it face first into a sheoldred. Menace would help evade that outcome.

In standard I'm looking forward to pairing it with glimpse the core for a little acceleration, experimental augury to proliferate my slimes, haughty djin to make my slime crimes cheaper, and case of the ransaked lab.

This also has some cost reduction, and once we solve the case using that cost reduction, all our slimes now draw cards, ensuring we can flood the board with good good slime.

The leyline automatically enables domain 5 and anything that wants you to have a lot of colours of stuff.

This solves the case, so you can give a creature flying doublestrike and vigilance.
Play a Nishoba Brawler and you can have a 5/3 doublestrike flying vigilance trample very early in the game
My favourite thing about this mini combo is it doesn't take many cards, so the rest of the deck can be normal and good. Once again...

In this one we've got Kaya and Kellen dashing about Ravnica, finding clues and fighting baddies and so on.
